MEDICINE: THE WEIGHT HORMONE CAN REGULATE OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
A study carried out by the team of Immune Endocrinology of CNR from Naples, published on the Journal of Clinical Investigation, has underlined the key role played by leptine - a hormone regulating body weight - in the aetiology of serious autoimmune diseases such as experimental multiple sclerosis (experimental allergic encephalitis EAE) and autoimmune diabetes.
